Ribery
Ribery barely gained the city status in 1950. Mainly due to the taxes it could pay in comparison to other smaller towns. If the city has anybody to thank it is the tourists who often visit the famous historical Caves of Antera site underneath the city itself.
It provides the locals great economic opportunity. Many rent out their houses or event sell property to make a lot of money. The city is also very special due to the fact that it can see the gulf clearly from it, and is the only city that can provide that except for Lachaven. Many don't like to swim in the cold waters but very much enjoy the scenic hillside houses for relaxation. Some locals have been more vocal about the shift in the tradition and life in Ribery, but that doesn't change the fact that, without tourism this city would be very much lost.
The real estate industry also began to invest heavily in the outskirts of the urban area in the hopes of cashing out of the tourist influx. Ribery is beautiful and worth a visit. The locals say that, if you have been to Ribery once, then you have been to Ribery a million times.
One of the most famous Riberians was Giralt of Ribery, the famous winemaker of Erlory.
