Rizian People's Party
The Rizian People's Party is the sole opposition party in the House of Delegates, Riziaβs legislative body. It is currently led by Manus Sazon.
It was founded on the authority of King Valero Toras shortly after the Uprising of 1926, in an attempt to channel the grievances of Riziaβs non-noble classes. In the years immediately following the uprising, it maintained a near-negligible presence in government, sustained by a handful of Brenas academics. Over the next decades, the party grew to comprise activists, intellectuals, artists and blue-collar workers. Though hampered by the Rizian election process, which heavily favors nobles, the RPP gained increasing representation on provincial councils and in the House of Delegates.
Under the leadership of Manus Sazon, who galvanized the party on his return to Rizia, they achieved their highest-ever results in 1949, winning nearly one third of Delegate seats. While not allowed to explicitly campaign against the monarchy, the RPP has adopted a pro-democratic agenda, pushing for measures that empower and uplift commoners without disrupting the kingdomβs system of government.
