Patricio Alvarez
Patricio Alvarez, born 1902, is a Lespian politician and business magnate who currently serves as the Prime Minister of Lespia. In 1950, the Eras Magazine ranked him as the 100th richest man in the world. Alvarez's business career began in construction with his company Alvarez Industries. In the late 1930s, he built the famous Alvarez Towers, where he based his business, and Falenco Five, a development of 5,000 residential apartments in the city of Falenco. He was investigated by the Lespian Anti-Corruption Force for profiteering in 1940, but the investigations were dropped the same year when he entered the Democrazia Lespia as a member of the Lespian Parliament. He has reportedly admitted that he entered politics so as to avoid imprisonment. During the 1940s, while in opposition to the governing Partido LibertΓ Nazionale, Alvarez developed the economic framework of Lespian Protectionism alongside his mentor and former Democrazia Lespia opposition leader. Their economic theory gained prominence throughout Ventrie City and the wider West. After becoming Prime Minister, he established the influential Lespian Capital Protection Agency in 1949 alongside the Magical Eight companies. Alvarez was elected as the leader of Democrazia Lespia and launched a massive campaign of electoral advertisements on all Lespian channels through his network of connections. He entered the 1948 elections and was elected as the Prime Minister of Lespia, beginning his term in 1949. His term saw major tax concessions, removal of many state regulations, and the implementation of strategic protectionist measures that have contributed to Lespia's economic stability. One of the biggest achievements of his term was Lespia's membership approval in the ATO, where he has positioned Lespia as a distinctive economic voice while maintaining core free market principles. He was elected again in 1953.
