Deyr

Situated on a river delta, Deyr and its surrounding villages provide all the necessary agricultural production to keep most of Sordland fed. Several rivers flowing down from the Tauria mountains for tens of kilometres provide the perfect farmlands which stretch as far the eye can see.
Deyr has the largest metro area out of all cities in the nation and is administratively split into three areas: Old Deyr, New Deyr and the Outer Farmlands. New Deyr is an Agro-City which was founded in 1911 as an experiment of collectivized agriculture on a city scale. The economic advisor of the Kingdom of Sordland, Heron Walt was the genius mind who executed the project, but originally the idea came from Valgsland. A near to perfect agriculture focused infrastructure network, The Grand Bazaar of Deyr effortlessly gathers all the goods from the farms and facilitates the sales to companies or residents.
Next to the huge structure at the city centre is the Archsanctuary of Descension which glaringly is the tallest building in the city. Pilgrims across Sordland come here to pray to the holy Dastnurity shrine inside. Not far from here is the University of Culture and Nature.
In contrast to New Deyr, the concept of time in Old Deyr is inexplicably inconsequential. Centuries may have passed but the area of Old Deyr has always been occupied by settlers of all kinds with various ethnic and religious backgrounds. Landmarks such as the ancient Garden City of Crest and the Temple of Valangir, though mostly in ruins, still give the hard working but stubborn people somewhat of a perspective.
However, the ethnic composition of the city makes it the most heterogeneous in Sordland. While most ethnic Sords live in New Deyr other minority ethnic groups reside in Old Deyr. Nearly one million Bludish live alongside thousands of Wehzeks, Rumburgians’ and even Old Sords that practice the old way of life. Even though the city is blessed with a multiculturalism that is unparalleled on the Merkopa continent, it is also cursed with ethnic and religious tension.
