Curtan Leste
Curtan Leste is a Sordish politician and a member of the United Sordland Party, who has been serving as the mayor of Anrica since 1940. He previously served as the mayor of Benfi from 1936 to 1940. He is the longest serving mayor in the country.
Born in Anrica, Lesteโs family moved to Benfi for his fatherโs career as a lawyer. Having his primary and secondary education in Benfi, he later moved to the capital to attend the Holsord State University. After his studies, he worked as a correspondent for the Holsord Post newspaper. He also founded the National Nurists Association to fight against the โdecreasing religious and moral values among the youth.โ
In 1930, he returned to Benfi to start his own business. He managed a small seaside hotel and a restaurant before joining the United Sordland Party. He started his political career when he ran as a mayor for the district of Almonds in Benfi and got elected.
In 1936, he was elected mayor of Benfi. He organized the famous Benfi Culture Festival as part of the Day of Descension festivities, which brought millions of Nurist tourists to the city over the years.
After the sudden death of the mayor of Anrica, Leste was appointed by Tarquin Soll as the new mayor in 1940. During his tenure as the mayor of Anrica, he promoted the cityโs cultural heritage sites, invested in renovating old Sordish monuments and increased tourism greatly. His term saw the city expand greatly in size and become the logistical center of the Greater Holsord region.
He was later re-elected three times in a row, becoming the longest serving mayor in the history of Sordland. Over the years, he became very popular among the Sordish nationalists and the conservatives for his public speeches and accomplishments as mayor. He is considered to be the most well-known mayor in all of Sordland, as well as one of the most popular figures in the United Sordland Party.
