Annexation of Dome
The annexation of Dome was an event that occurred in the early 1920s. Border tensions between Agnolia and Rumburg reached a boiling point with the death of King Alfred Livingston, whose Rumburgian dream outlined a large expansion plan towards the south of Merkopa.
After the coronation of the new Queen Beatrice, she immediately devised an overwhelming night invasion towards the city of Dome, which took the Agnolian defenses by surprise. Thousands of lives were lost on both sides, the next day Rumburg emerged victor and announced full control of the strategic resource-rich city.
This emboldened Rumburg foreign policy put Agnolia under existensial threat. The oilfields surrounding Dome helped the resource-hungry industrial economy of Rumburg and damaged Agnolia greatly.
